A current sophomore with junior standing at the University of Washington, Seattle, Sahra Mohamad is passionate about software development and product management roles in fintech and technology companies. She brings experience from a recent Software Development Engineer internship at Amazon, where she developed scalable solutions using Java, Python, and AWS. Sahra has also interned with leading organizations like Microsoft, Google, Accenture, and the City of Seattle, enhancing her expertise in software engineering, project management, and data analysis. As President of both the Google Developer Group and the African Student Association at UW, Sahra leads initiatives fostering innovation and diversity. She also served as Financial Director for Black in Informatics and is an active member of ColorStack, further strengthening her leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills. Sahra is the founder of 'Coders Camp,' a non-profit providing free coding education to underserved K-8 students in Seattle, impacting over 20 students and expanding STEM accessibility. Her focus on technology, education, and equity positions her to excel in innovative teams driving impactful projects in the tech and fintech industries.

Hi, I'm Kezia (ˈkɛzi.ə, or in Spanish)! I currently do AI engineering and image generation and evaluation research at Duolingo. I graduated from Stanford University, majoring in Linguistics and doing research as a part of the Stanford NLP group, focusing on low-resource language modeling using LLMs. I love research, education, language, and computation. My passion is equal-access education for everyone, regardless of background, socio-economic level, or nationality. My experience includes computer science pedagogy research for the State of Texas Curriculum, volunteering at and organizing all-girls code camps and hackathons, and serving as a mentor for underrepresented minorities in tech. I love studying languages. My first language is Spanish, I studied Korean and German in high school, Mandarin Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese at Stanford, and am currently studying French and Italian. I am a huge syntax, phonology, and typology nerd. In my free time, I've performed salsa and bachata, DJd at large events, and fallen off the rock-climbing wall more times I can count. My dream is to be a professor in CS or Linguistics (preferably both), by the age of 60, and while I'm on that journey, I want to explore as many opportunities as I can.
