I've had a lifelong passion for graphic design and an innate drive to eliminate real world problems through design and technology. As a kid, I was constantly drawing and redesigning the logos of my favorite sports teams and rock bands all over my notebooks. At the same time, I was also dreaming about a world where something like Dick Tracy's "magical" wrist watch could truly become a reality. This thinking and behavior developed into a decent skill and I was encouraged to embrace art school/advertising as serious path for me. My first job was at an advertising company as a graphic designer, but then the birth of “World Wide Web” came calling. I was lucky enough to work for one of the first Internet ad agencies, AGENCY.COM. I experienced the evolution of the commercial world wide web in real-time and everything associated with this massive transformation as a designer/site manager/creative director for many well known corporate 100 companies. After catching the startup bug and co-founding 3 companies (with one significant exit), I learned invaluable lessons that continue to fuel my interest in business and were now coupled with my background in design/user experience. This prepared me for my next sea change moment, mobile! WebMD hired me as a product manager and assigned me to lead their entry into this new world. I was deeply immersed in all things mobile for 6 years and during this time, I lead the creation of ~18 mobile apps across multiple platforms. Steve Jobs even demoed our iPad app at an Apple event! After a prolific run at WebMD, I was recruited to reimagine the first generation app for TouchTunes, a digital jukebox company found in over 65k bars and restaurants (that is more than the # of Starbucks, McDonald's and Subway locations combined). With a look and feel that oozed cool, personalized features for the first time, intelligent proximity based notifications, and several new payment options. I helped increase mobile app revenue by over 177%. During my tenure, the app's NPS score peaked at 65 (up from 53). Reflecting on my career, my passion for design is still a major cornerstone of my foundation. Over the last decade plus, I've layered serious product management chops into my mix. This mind meld of skill-sets and experiences gives me an unique perspective that I bring to the table everyday.
