Arianne Gelardin

•

Arianne believes that the intersection of art and civic life is where we find shared values and collective agency. She works closely with artists and the community to advance dialogue across disciplines and to make contemporary art and ideas widely accessible. Prior to joining the San Francisco Arts Commission (SFAC) in 2022 as Public Art Project Manager, Arianne was Assistant Curator at The Contemporary Jewish Museum (CJM), a culturally-specific institution located in San Francisco's Yerba Buena neighborhood. The CJM's mission is to make the Jewish experience relevant and welcoming to a broader Bay Area community, a tenet of cross-cultural exchange that Arianne has carried with her throughout her career in the Arts. Prior to working at the CJM, Ari consulted on the design and fabrication of public artworks for the SFAC and independently for Bay Area–based artists. She has contributed to the development of public artworks for SFMTA's Central Subway and SFO; Berkeley Civic Art's BAWP Covid-19 recovery and resilience public art program; Little Tokyo Station in Los Angeles; as well as temporary public art installations for The 5x5 Project in Washington, D.C.. Arianne was also co-curator at StoreFrontLab and co-founder of Parlor, an experimental art pop-up in San Francisco's Mission District. Arianne received a BA in Art History from The New School University in New York, NY and a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI. In her free time, Arianne loves to hike, share meals, and spend time with family and friends. She's currently reading the collection of poems, Time is a Mother, by Ocean Vuong and listening to the *amazing* podcast, Octavia's Parables, hosted by Toshi Reagon and adrienne maree brown.

I'm a seasoned content designer with a passion for workshop facilitation, evolving technologies, and impact-driven work. My experience in design and value for user experience helps me to craft simple, accessible, and inclusive content. I'm a fierce advocate for content design, a user champion and overall creative force. This last year, I've dabbled in designing for web3 and AI experiences. I am a seeker who loves learning and growing. Alongside my work in design, I am a certified health and wellness coach with a Masters in Psychology from Columbia University. I write a monthly newsletter on my musings that reaches a small but mighty and thoughtful community.
