As a software engineer with experience in both full stack and mobile development, I bring a unique perspective to the table. My passion for programming was sparked while I was working as a teacher, and it quickly grew into a full-blown career. I fell in love with programming as a side hobby, taking classes at BU to keep my critical thinking skills sharp. Eventually, I left teaching and joined a bootcamp to learn web development.
At heart, I'm a curious and creative problem-solver who loves to tackle challenges head-on. I enjoy exploring new technologies and experimenting with innovative solutions to complex problems. As a lifelong learner, I'm always seeking new opportunities to grow and develop my skills.
In addition to my technical skills, I'm also an avid fan of walks in the woods with my dog, spending time with my family, cooking, game nights with friends, and wine/beer/mead tastings. I believe that a healthy work-life balance is essential for personal and professional success.
Over the years, I've honed my skills in technologies such as JavaScript, React, React Native, Node, Typescript, Redux, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL. In my current role as a Platform Software Engineer at Pear Therapeutics, I've been responsible for backend and frontend development, writing tests, using Docker, and participating in production support rotations. I also played a crucial role in migrating to microservices and leading the team in investigating and solving customer issues.
