I am a current graduate student at Boston University School of Social Work, pursing an MSW in Clinical Social Work with a specialization in Trauma, Violence, and Justice. My interests in the field of social work center around a passion for upholding and preserving the human right to bodily autonomy, and uplifting those whose autonomy and choice have been violated. My interests include supporting and advocating for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, advocating for expanded access to safe and legal reproductive healthcare as well as expanded access to comprehensive sexual education, and working with individuals and families who have experienced previous or ongoing challenges with the medical field including barriers to healthcare and problematic quality of care. Through the examination of systemic and institutionalized racism, cyclical poverty and food and housing insecurity, ableism and mental health stigma, patriarchy, and other systems of oppression that perpetuate medical inequities, I hope to confront health disparities as well as both new and enduring attacks on human rights and personal freedoms.
