35+ year seasoned healthcare operator, investor and Board Member. Previously worked at AMAZON, GOOGLE and BOX on healthcare initiatives as well as in GOVERNMENT & VENTURE CAPITAL. Currently, angel investing and spinning up a new healthcare start ups. Formerly, served as a VENTURE CHAIR at Redesign Health, a venture studio where I incubated and funded 7 healthcare companies from scratch and served on their boards. Prior to Redesign, I helped start the Alexa Health & Wellness team at AMAZON and worked on a series of other healthcare initiatives across the company. Prior to Amazon, I served as VP & Managing Director of Healthcare & Life Sciences at BOX where I led the company’s first healthcare corporate acquisition and helped launch the industries division. Prior to Box, I was in VENTURE CAPITAL at Morgenthaler Ventures, a firm with $3B under management (now rebranded as Canvas Prime. There, I led Series A+B digital health investments in Practice Fusion, Doximity, HealthLoop, Viewics and Vida Health. Prior to venture, I served as one of the founding members of GOOGLE HEALTH, launching Google’s first entry into the healthcare industry. Prior to Google, I worked for the GOVERNMENT at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under President George W. Bush where I helped start the inaugural Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) under Dr. David Brailer. Before government, I worked at CareScience, a digital health startup that went public and developed the first Health Information Exchange (HIE). Prior to CareScience, I worked at the KAISER FAMILY FOUNDATION (KFF) and AETNA. I angel invest, sit on several company boards and advise startups. I have an M.A. from Stanford University in healthcare policy, communications and business administration and a B.A. in English Literature and Theatre from UCLA.
