At the forefront of blockchain innovation, I co-founded Spacecoin, focusing on the pioneering development of DePin—validators operating in Earth's orbit. This endeavor not only showcases my commitment to pushing the boundaries of decentralization but also leverages my expertise in the Polkadot ecosystem, as evidenced by my prior role at KodaDot. With KodaDot, we've achieved remarkable milestones, such as deploying multiple NFT standards across Polkadot parachains, which positioned us as a leading application in the ecosystem. Our team's collaborative spirit has enabled us to process over a thousand on-chain bounties, and our Pay-per-contribution model has redefined the paradigm for sustainable open-source development in the blockchain space.

I am currently a Professor in the Department of Computer Science of UCSB, where I head of the Foundations of Financial Technology ("FifTech") lab (https://fiftech.cs.ucsb.edu/). For the past two decades, my work brought scientific innovation into fruition in several industrial leadership positions: currently, a Distinguished Scientist of Chainlink Labs (https://chainlinklabs.com/), and a consultant to Espresso Systems(https://www.espressosys.com/), Nubit (https://www.nubit.org/), and Spacecoin (https://www.nubit.org/). Formerly, I was the CTO of the Diem Association (https://www.diem.com/en-us/) and Lead Researcher at Novi Financial (https://about.fb.com/news/2020/05/welcome-to-novi/) from 2019 to 2022. In 2014, I co-founded VMware Research (https://octo.vmware.com/introduction-vrg/) and became a Principal Researcher at VMware until June 2019. Prior to that, I was a partner principal researcher at Microsoft Research, 2004-2014; a tenured Associate Professor of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a senior researcher at AT&T Labs. In over two decades encompassing both academic and industrial research, I have brought contributions in broad aspects of reliability and security of distributed systems, recently with focus on blockchains and advances in financial technology, resulting in (over 200) papers as well as a strong impact on the computing technology. I specialize in growth marketing and business development for Web3 deep tech. In particular, I know how to grow businesses that are focused on developer tooling, data infrastructure, and AI empowerment technologies. Currently, I am Head of Growth at SQD, an innovative blockchain data management and indexing platform that is rapidly gaining market share amongst Web3 companies (like PancakeSwap, Shiba Inu) and enterprises (including Deutsche Telekom). I originally entered the blockchain space in 2017 and have been able to gain a fundamental understanding of crypto growth strategies since that time. While I have been primarily focussed over the last few years on deep tech and infrastructure, I previously worked on consumer applications, and before that gained a deep familiarity with the industry's regulatory challenges, working with some of blockchain's top RegTech thinkers.

I am a co-founder of Cryptosat, a company at the intersection of blockchain and space. We are launching a tamper-proof root-of-trust into space orbit, enabling new applications and services that require high security and reliability. I have over 20 years of experience in software development, security, and cryptography, and I hold a PHD from Stanford University in these fields. I am also a co-founder and former CTO of Anjuna, an enterprise security company in the space of Confidential Computing and secure enclaves. Anjuna's solutions protect the most sensitive workloads and data from insiders and hackers by seamlessly encrypting everything end to end. I am a speaker at BlackHat, RSAC, and academic conferences, and I have multiple publications on topics such as side-channel attacks, mobile privacy, smart contracts, and trusted execution environments. Aside from security, I built BoxStream, a cloud music app that had thousands of active users.
