An enthusiastic computer scientist and practitioner with excellent academic records and 12+ years of experience working on multiple R&D and industrial projects that span the area of software design & development, IT architecture, machine learning, and cloud infrastructure. I am a results-driven, customer-focused, articulate, and analytical person who thrives in challenging and diverse tasks. Currently, I am working as Lead IT Architect at DNB Bank ASA. Before that, I worked as a Ph.D. research fellow at Simula Research Laboratory, Oslo, Norway, and as a research fellow at Software Quality Engineering & Testing Laboratory (QUEST Lab) in Islamabad, Pakistan. At Simula, I conducted my research in the fields of Cyber-Physical System (CPS) Product Line Engineering, Search-based Software Engineering, and Machine Learning in collaboration with companies like Cisco Systems, Norway. At QUEST, I conducted research in the areas of Empirical Software Engineering and Model-based Software testing. I received my BS and MS in computer science from FAST-NU, Islamabad, Pakistan whereas my Ph.D. from the University of Oslo, Norway.

As a developer passionate about problem-solving, I believe in the power of a problem-first approach. As developers, we can easily get caught up in solutions and then try to find a problem it solves. With the solution-first process, you can get lucky, but with the problem-first approach and verification at every step, you are much more likely to succeed. While it can be challenging to maintain a problem-first system, it will pay off in the long run. In addition to problem-solving, I have a strong interest in developer experience, always looking for opportunities to improve developers' cognitive load. In almost every job I have held, to varying degrees, I have been involved in developing products that will enhance the developer experience. Finally, I'm not particularly eager to make decisions, but I am passionate about ensuring we arrive at decisions.
