As a founder myself, my skills lie in recognising exceptional people who can execute. With over a decade in high level deal structuring, I’m driven by seeking out the right company, securing the right backing, and signposting the right route to a meaningful exit. For the right founders, I add the benefit of strong connections to leading brokers in Australia where I advise on deal flow and introduce early stage companies, as well as a network of US and European financiers with a focus on funding for early stage tech companies. My background as a strategic adviser to a large early stage tech incubator in Australia adds a breadth of intelligence and connections that help founders do great things.

I currently split my time between practicing estate planning and probate law and as a software developer. I’ve found over the years that programming and law practice compliment each other very well as both involve detailed thinking in logic-based systems. Contracts are basically English language social software programs. In 2022, I returned to practicing law after spending a little over 10 years focused on software development as an iOS app programmer. I have always had an interest in law and technology. After graduating from Georgetown Law, it seemed natural to work as a lawyer for tech startups in venture capital. However, I didn't really enjoy the daily experience of that work. Meeting with clients and finding innovative ways to help them meet their goals is great. But many of the lower-level tasks are tasks I think are perhaps better first approached via AI models. This is an approach I take with my private practice - looking for ways to take advantage of technology while protecting sensitive data. This enables me to better serve clients and bring the enjoyment back to legal practice. I like exploring how mobile devices and technology can change the way we work and play (be sure to check out the "Projects" section). I usually have at least one app I'm working on personally, as well as any work I'm doing for clients. My most recent client has been ACE Parking where I helped redesign and develop their consumer and enterprise apps. I also volunteer as a community organizer and event facilitator with Startup Weekend. I really enjoy the idea that people can pursue their dreams through entrepreneurship. I spend time helping build entrepreneurial communities and turning people on to the idea that they can shape their own futures and pursue their dreams. Finally, I like to travel. I spent about seven years living in Japan and am a pretty advanced Japanese speaker. I also spent some time living in Mexico, Spain, (intermediate Spanish skills) and Thailand as well.
