I am a multilingual researcher and lead open-source investigations into individuals and companies across the former Soviet Union, as well as in German-, French- and Italian-speaking Europe. I have more than a decade’s experience helping decision-makers identify and navigate potential financial crime, political and reputational risks to their business, which I have gained from roles in consultancy and the anti-financial crime division of a global investment bank. My strengths include a rigorous approach to research, providing local context and analysis and breaking complex issues down into manageable chunks of information suitable for all audiences. Beyond due diligence, I am passionate about education, and work part-time as an English teacher to business professionals and high school students preparing for Cambridge English exams in Bologna.

I help companies navigate financial crime and sanctions risks, understand their threat landscape and dominate thought leadership in their field. Previously, as insights editor at TRM Labs, I told data-driven stories about the latest developments in crypto crime and enforcement. Before that, I built the crypto and DeFi practice at Wallbrook, a business intelligence consultancy where I was a founding partner. A recognised expert on politics and corruption in the former USSR, I am a regular contributor to the London Review of Books and The Nation. I have also appeared on CNBC and France24.
