Performance (in sport, high risk occupations, business, performing arts) consists of 4 cornerstones: technical, tactical, physical, and mental. Yet the vast majority of people train only the first three, not realizing their mental game can be strengthened as well. Imagine what you could accomplish by proactively developing that extra 25%!
I specialize in training mental skills so that individuals and teams consistently perform at the high end of their abilities. I have also developed my own curriculum to educate coaches and leaders how to cultivate the Optimal Psychological Conditions for maximal satisfaction, growth, and success, which is valuable in both youth development and professional settings. My counseling psychology background means these trainings also preemptively strengthen mental health in performance and daily life.
My passion for sport psychology stems from a lengthy soccer career in which I reached the NCAA Final Four as a 4-year collegiate starter, before playing semi-professionally in Europe for several years. 15+ years of coaching all ages and levels of the game has also seen me receive coaching licenses from UEFA and U.S. Soccer.
A unique skill I bring to my consulting and coaching work is the ability to convert abstract theory into digestible, real-life lessons. I learned this during 8 years teaching German and English as second languages, where my most gratifying experience was bringing a class of refugees with 21 different native languages from zero German knowledge to competency. Learning German as a foreign language myself has given me insight into skill and knowledge acquisition, and an understanding of multiple cultures.
