I establish and manage programs in nonprofits, government, education, and health. I work across a wide array of content areas within these sectors, focused on equity and social determinants of health. In my roles in state government, I led a five-year Centers for Disease Control (CDC) grant award for the state of Minnesota on adolescent health strategies. Through this project, I managed several program components working with Minnesota Department of Health, local public health and school district jurisdictions across highly diverse regions, resulting in curriculum adoption, policy establishment, and practice improvements in schools to meet the needs of the community. At the state level, centering those most impacted, I’ve convened stakeholder groups to identify and develop state-level work projects that address systemic injustices and inequity. These included technical solutions for adolescent respondents on the state's largest health survey to include transgender students and gender nonconforming students, in social and cultural environments of erasure and exclusion. In addition, the writing and release of state level guidance to schools on non discrimination and equity practices in K-12 environments for transgender and non-binary students. In my past roles in non-profits, I managed several grant funded programs in the context of foundation and state funding, across the intersecting spectrums of violence and prevention, child and adolescent development, and identity and sexual development. This includes the co-development of a Teacher Residency Program on public school implementation of sexuality education policy, curriculum and classroom teaching methods by partnering with experts in the field, medical clinics, HIV clinics and licensed teachers. I began my career providing education and response advocacy with adolescent victims of sexual violence, providing HIV education to adults experiencing incarceration, and providing professional trainings and consultations with social service providers, school staff and parents.
