I am a FinTech and Crypto Compliance Officer with over 20 years experience. I began my career in traditional banking and this experience has shaped my perspective on the importance of a strong foundation in compliance. My extensive experience building FinTech products has complemented that perspective by incorporating a Product/Technology first mindset. True product compliance is about collaborative dialogue from an early stage between engineering, product, legal and compliance teams; in order to understand the technology and to share critical information about the risks. This collaboration early on involves the entire team to participate in finding creative solutions to difficult product and technology challenges. I have detailed regulatory knowledge of State Money Transmission and Federal Money Services Business regulations as well as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Investment Advisers and the Securities and Exchange Acts; FINRA Anti-Money Laundering compliance programs per the Bank Secrecy Act of 1970; and the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

I bring an international experience and cultural intelligence to the team, having lived in Singapore, and worked, studied, and volunteered in various countries including UK, China, India, Egypt and Turkey. Before joining unicorn tech start ups (Ledger, Kraken, Wise), I was a Management Consultant at Accenture, where I focused on UX projects for FTSE 100 companies and the UK Government. Prior to that, I had experience with the likes of PwC and Royal Bank of Scotland (now NatWest), and also served as a Commissioned Officer in the Singapore Armed Forces. I have the ability to operate at both commercial and software development levels. As a technologist with a Ph.D in Computer Science, my background is in large scale software engineering and architecture for distributed systems. I've designed, implemented and delivered systems, components and products in a wide variety of domains including telecommunications networks, mobile location systems, Enterprise Search, Continuous Controls Monitoring and ERP finance systems. As a business owner, I have lead a number of technology-based businesses to successful outcomes. As founder and CEO of Selera Labs, I grew Selera Labs from a boutique professional services consulting team, to a product-based enterprise data analytics startup that gained significant traction and momentum in Australia before being acquired by PwC UK.
