20+ years of International experience in private capital markets & investment in developed & emerging economies, with experience as an Investment Executive at Saudi Aramco (world's largest energy company), E.ON (one of world's largest energy & power companies), The Carlyle Group, The Abraaj Group, & Lehman Brothers.
What is the mission? Utilizing the skills & network I have built to fund the causes I am passionate towards, both professionally & societally.
While it took many years of exploration & globetrotting to identify my role in this world, I finally crystalized & embraced the ultimate objectives. It is impossible to be everything to everyone & to be an expert in everything. I can be a fund manager, investor, operator, technologist, or just another employee - but will I be the best? Likely no. So what will I do? Bring an extensive network to achieve the ambitious mission.
What I focus on professionally:
Globalization of capital markets: I have a fascination for the continued globalization of capital markets. Since dot-com boom & bust, I have worked in 12 countries across 6 continents, often at the cost of financial gain or returns given the weaker performance of emerging & less-developed markets, but am appreciative of developing a broad & deep global network alongside lifetime relationships & my fascination with cultures & history.
Entrepreneurship in private markets: It is important to identify passions, superpowers & unfair advantages - for me it is to bring a global network to empower next generation fund managers & private market management teams & entrepreneurs to build great businesses. Throughout ups & downs the past 20 years, I have found it is important to research & respect history, lessons learned & data to build a playbook that seems to be much more effective with such learnings.
The intersection of energy, technology, capital markets & sustainability: The thematic focuses of my career are finally at a convergence of growth.
What are my societal missions:
