I'm a computer scientist and musician with a passion for adding positivity to the lives of those around me. Any evidence of this? Positively so! During my time studying at Colorado College, I collaborated with several fellow students and staff members to build a website that allows members of our college community to learn about present campus events that are topically relevant to them. During the months after the college began using the website, I met with, presented to, and reached out to various offices and individuals on campus to ensure that the community was able to use the website as effectively as possible. Making sure everyone is valued and feels comfortable in every setting is also important to me. During college, I prioritized inclusion by listening to learn which games would be accessible and interesting for a variety of members of the college Board Game Club, and by establishing new incentives for students in the voice department to perform. During my tenure as paraprofessional, I attended workshops on cultural mindfulness and Fierce Conversations, and I sought to represent accurately and completely the input I received from diverse groups of students during faculty hiring processes. While working at Optum, I utilize resources such as GlobeSmart as part of my continuous work towards learning how to include others more effectively. Among the other parts of my life that I value are singing, acting, playing piano, interacting with children, practicing Judaism, playing board games, and crafting clever colloquialisms in conversation. I'm also working on my skills in music composition; projects I've completed so far include pieces for choir, barbershop, and musical theatre, as well as a setting of a Jewish "Prayer for Peace."
