Damian Garbaccio

Damian Garbaccio stands at the forefront of technology, media and marketing by providing value and progressive martech solutions to some of the largest brands in advertising today. As a calculated risk taker with deep industry knowledge, he leads enterprise data and technology adoption across all brand verticals, advanced TV / media, and attribution (marketing effectiveness) solutions. With over 18 years of experience in advanced marketing tech, digital media, and advertising, Garbaccio has always been driven by his core values of integrity, innovation, and growth. He was previously Executive Vice President of Nielsen's Advertiser Direct & Marketing Cloud, responsible for sales, strategy, business development, and client service; specifically managing teams that executed global engagements with marketers, media brands,and agencies. Damian also led Advertiser/NMC business development efforts in Advanced TV (Addressable, OTT). Prior to Nielsen, he was Global Chief Revenue Officer of eXelate where he grew revenues exponentially across core DMP, analytics and attribution businesses while cementing partnerships with its largest clients including Google, Nielsen and MasterCard, as well as leading agencies and channel partners. Garbaccio successfully positioned eXelate for rapid growth and its eventual acquisition by Nielsen in March of 2015. Before eXelate, Garbaccio led business development (behavioral solutions) and built the data targeting business at AOL’s Advertising.com. Garbaccio received a BA from Vanderbilt University, and Master's Degrees from Fordham (MBA) and Boston University (MS – Management Information Systems).

I have been in the ecommerce space since 1999 (4 yrs after Amazon and eBay were founded) and have connected thousands of ecommerce leaders for the purpose of information sharing, learning and networking. I co-founded CommerceNext in 2017 — it's a community and series of conferences for ecommerce leaders. I am proud to be part of the digital retail community and always willing to make relevant introductions. I spent 10 years as Executive Director of Shop.org until August 2010. At Shop.org I grew the membership to 600+ members, launched and grew the Annual Summit from zero to a Fastest 50 trade show. I co-invented "Cyber Monday" in 2005 and conceptualized and launched Cybermonday.com in 2006 as a shopping site and business model that has generated more than $2.5 million for Shop.org’s scholarship fund. I'm passionate and intellectually curious about all things ecommerce including omnichannel, cross-channel/international ecommerce, digital marketing and customer experience.
