Jiani Chen is on the Growth / BD team at the Solana Foundation, working on initiatives that support the expansion of the Solana ecosystem. Previously, she was a Partner at Protagonist, a $100M early stage fund focused on building and investing in future-defining web2 and web3 companies and protocols. Earlier in her career, she was an investor at Felicis Ventures where she sourced the team's investment in Sourcegraph (DevOps, $2B+) and helped to close investments in Xilis (Cancer Diagnostics), and Opsera (DevOps). She also helped to manage Felicis's investments in several well-known startup unicorns including Canva ($40B+), Cultureamp ($1B+), Hyperscience and Dialpad ($1B+) Other companies Jiani worked on while at Felicis include Assembled, Bluecore ($1B+), Datagrail, Dovetail, Hippo (NASDAQ: HIPO), Alloy.co ($1B+), Ontic, Okera, Overture Life, Puzzle.io, Trialspark ($1B+), TopFunnel, Pendulum Therapeutics, and ProteinQure. Jiani was previously on the investment team at ICONIQ Capital and Goldman Sachs. Jiani is an accomplished pianist and passed the highest-level certification (Level 10) in China. I'm a Full-Stack Engineer with a passion for web3. I create the tools, apps, and experiences that will welcome the next wave of digital natives into web3. I've worked across various industries and technologies, picking up a diverse skill set along the way. Some highlights include 6 years at Apple, where I worked on projects like a business intelligence dashboard that became the App Store Sales & Trends product, and helped launch a new version of the Apple Online Store. I also ran my own successful consultancy for 3 years before joining On Deck as their first full-time Engineer. There, I led the No-Code Infrastructure team and learned the importance of solid infrastructure tools—knowledge I carried to my role as a Founding Engineer at Switchboard. Now, I'm fully immersed in the web3 space. I'm currently at OpenSea. Before that, I was at Yuga Labs where I worked on the new BAYC website, Ape Fest store, and Otherside web launcher. I was the first full-time engineer at Floor where I helped scale their NFT portfolio application to over 35k DAU. I've built NFT portfolio trackers, DeFi platforms, attribution systems, fun minting experiences, and powerful web3 dashboards. I've also worked with major blockchain data providers, mastering blockchain data ETL and integrating it with my API and platform development skills. Recently, I helped build the JavaScript SDK for delegate.xyz. I'm thrilled to keep using these skills to shape the ever-evolving web3 landscape. gm!
