Melody is a Partner at NextView Ventures based in its New York office. She has spent her entire career working with technology and Internet startups as an entrepreneur, operator, and investor. Prior to joining NextView, Melody was Head of Product at Blue Apron (NYSE: APRN). Melody joined Blue Apron as the first product hire when the company was 18 months old with 20 HQ employees. She helped scale the business through hyper-growth (25x in 3.5 years) and to its IPO, building and leading a 35-person team across Product Management, Product Design, and Analytics/Data Science. Previously, Melody was a Product Manager at Fab.com leading marketing & analytics products and the founder/CEO of a seed-funded wine subscription e-commerce service. Melody was also a venture investor at Time Warner’s strategic VC group and was a one of six inaugural members of First Round Capital’s Product Co-op initiative. Melody began her career as a tech/media M&A investment banking analyst at Evercore Partners. Melody holds an MBA with Distinction from the Harvard Business School and a BS in Commerce with Distinction from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

I'm an entrepreneur turned venture capitalist. I invest broadly across software & AI enabled companies spanning fintech, SaaS, consumer, and digital health. On behalf of NextView, I have led investments in more than 30 seed stage companies since 2010 including Grove Collaborative (GROV), Skillz (SKLZ), WHOOP, Upserve (acquired), and GrabCAD (acquired). I was an early employee at PayPal and a co-founder of LinkedIn before becoming a VC investor at PJC and then co-founding NextView Ventures.

VitalStage Managing Partner Brian Shin has over 10 years experience in AI as a venture-backed AI startup founder, co-author of two of AI patents, head of AI for a $8bn public software company, and investor in a number of AI/ML/Data Infrastructure companies. In his 25 years as a technology entrepreneur he has had 5 exits as a co-founder and has been an early investor in paradigm-changing companies including HubSpot, Drift, Lightmatter, HqO, Kayak, Pipefy, Misfit, and many others. Brian previously co-founded Visible Measures, a leading venture-backed video analytics platform company (acquired in 2017) and Searchable.ai, a venture-backed unified AI search and data platform that pioneered the concept of an "answer engine". He was also an institutional investor as a partner with In-Q-Tel, the strategic investment partner of the US Intelligence Community and as a Managing Director with PSG/Providence Equity Partners. He truly views founders as the heroes of the business world. AI represents perhaps the most significant opportunity of our lifetimes but also presents challenges that could impact the future of humanity.
