Hey there! I am Najla Ahmad, and I absolutely love diving into the world of machine learning. It's my passion and what gets me excited every day. I want to focus on machine learning and reinforcement learning research in my future endeavors. I have been fortunate to work as a Technical Product Manager and Senior Associate Machine Learning Engineer at Capital One Bank, where I blend my expertise in software engineering and machine learning. I mainly focused on building an internal machine learning platform that produced timely alerts on issues with incoming variables or outputs. My drive is all about optimizing performance and driving real value for the business. As a Machine Learning Engineer at Capital One's Center for Machine Learning (C4ML), I had the chance to make a real impact. I worked on developing models to assess money laundering risk, using my engineering skills and analyzing customer data to stay one step ahead. By successfully mitigating the risk of money laundering, I saved the company significant amounts of money. I also led the integration of the Shapley additive explanations (SHAP) framework, making it easier for us to interpret the output of our machine learning models. Beyond the office, I am the Director of VGMTogether, LLC, where I oversee teams responsible for coordinating performer recruitment and creating virtual reality experiences for gaming conventions. It is a chance to bring my love for gaming and technology together while ensuring everyone has an unforgettable time. I am really proud of the work I have done to make our platform fully accessible and automate various processes. I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Kansas University, where my research revolved around intent recognition in multi-agent systems. It was an incredible journey that fueled my curiosity and love for artificial intelligence. Along the way, I also earned a Master's Degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Northeastern University, with a focus on Software Engineering, and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Wellesley College, where I also explored my interest in Psychology. In addition to my academic achievements, I have published papers and participated in conferences on Natural Language Processing and AI. Programming-wise, I am well-versed in Python, Lisp, Java, C, and C++. But more than just the technical skills, I thrive on collaborating with diverse teams and bringing innovative solutions to the table.
