I see myself as a generalist moving from one task to another, able to change my focus from hands-on work to management tasks and back. I have been working in many kind of positions and so far I have enjoyed most when designing new concepts, building prototypes and keeping myself in touch with actual implementation work. Quite often I find myself starting new things and when getting good results, these experiments are pushed to someone else to be productised. On the other hand, I have a twisted mind and I have history of studying project management related concepts and models. My humble opinion is that all existing models are too complicated and incorrectly focus on getting good results. Most of the time software projects fail so horribly bad that it would be more practical to focus on minimizing probability of miserable failures instead of focusing on creating perfect projects. In the end, product should be the main thing in a project, not the process. This is the conclusion I resulted in my Master's thesis where I also introduced an idea of even more simplified model for project management. I love working on open source software, but unfortunately most of the time my work has been secret and I have not been able to contribute as much as I would have liked. Thankfully I have been able to guide others to collaborate with communities and I try to do my best to promote open source behind the scenes. Specialities: Generic software architectures, open source, distributed software development, building complex systems and agile project management.
