I’m originally from New Zealand but have called Ireland home since 2011. I live in Limerick with my wife and three boys. My career combines over two decades of expertise in web development with a passion for personal finance, hockey, and environmental initiatives.
With more than 20 years of experience as a web developer, I’ve worked on hundreds of web projects for clients such as Apple, KPMG, Marks & Spencer, the University of Colorado, and the Houses of the Oireachtas.
In 2019, I launched The Irish FIRE Podcast, a personal project documenting my family’s journey toward financial independence. The podcast has since become a leading voice in the Irish financial independence space, with over 100 episodes and more than 300,000 downloads. In 2025, my passion for personal finance led to an invitation to become a columnist for The Irish Independent, where I write about financial independence, early retirement, and personal finance.
I’ve also been actively involved in several organizations in a volunteering capacity. I co-founded An Dúlra, an Irish co-op dedicated to establishing native woodlands. In the hockey community, I’ve played a pivotal role by co-founding Castletroy Hockey Club and three other clubs. I also served as President of Munster Hockey from 2022 to 2024.
