As the Chief Financial Officer at River & Sea Energy, I bring over 17 years of experience in corporate banking, portfolio management, and financial modeling to the company. I oversee the financial strategy, planning, and reporting of the company, as well as the management of the treasury, accounting, and tax functions. I also serve as the Group CEO at EHSI, a leading provider of emergency helicopter services in Europe and Africa, and the Chairman at Norwegian Fish Farms AS, a sustainable aquaculture company. In these roles, I leverage my skills in sales, relationship management, project management, and working capital management to drive growth, profitability, and innovation. I am passionate about creating value for the shareholders, customers, and employees of these organizations, as well as contributing to the social and environmental impact of their operations.

I have spent the past two decades leading teams in developing impactful engagement strategies, advising senior executives and implementing effective issues management in complex jurisdictions. In my current role, I have led multiple assignment across the ESG spectrum, including strategic advising on climate change risks/opportunities, as well as geopolitical risk advising. I have broad international experiences from the Middle East, Scandinavia and the United Kingdom, as well as in-depth energy insights. In addition to Critical Resource and ERM, I have served as Chief of Staff at the Innogy Innovation Hub and Head of Communications for Northern Europe, Middle East & Africa (NEMEA) at DNV GL – Energy, with a focus on renewables and the power sector. From 2006 until early 2014, I was at Norwegian energy majors Norsk Hydro and Statoil (now Equinor), where I held several senior leadership positions in communications, people management and strategy, including as head of Statoil’s external relations in Iran and as Acting Vice President of Communication for Statoil’s international business. I started my career in one of the Middle East’s leading strategic and political consulting firms, heading up a portfolio focused on political advising for the energy sector. I hold a BA (Hons) in Politics from the University of Sussex and an MSc in International Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. I am fluent in English, Persian and Swedish, and have full working proficiency in Norwegian. I have been working with Business Intelligence (BI) solutions since 1998 as project manager, architect, modeller, and programmer (jack-of-all-trades) on both the data preparation and reporting sides. Currently I'm working with Oracle and Snowflake Datawarehousing using SAP BODS and Matillion ETL tools and the Python interface to Google Analytics, and QlikView for data load and report design. I have worked many years with the Microsoft BI product stack, ie. SQL Server Database (MSSQL), Analysis Services (SSAS), Integration Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS). I have worked more than 8 years (per March, 2014) with requirements specification, modelling, solution design, and hands-on development of reporting solutions with Microsoft BI technology. I have also previously worked a significant number of years with a larger part of the Oracle BI product stack, ie. Oracle Fusion Middleware, including Warehouse Builder (OWB, ETL tool), OLAP Option, and Discoverer multi dimensional reporting tool. Part of this work period was at Oracle Consulting. Earlier operational experience with large scale Linux, Unix varieties, and storage technology operations and maintenance. DEC Storage Fellow. I still practice my programming skills, languages include PL/SQL, T-SQL, Perl, Python, JavaScript, Powershell, PHP, C/C++, Emacs Lisp, Unix *sh, XML/XSLT. I am a trained and experienced project manager, with knowledge of presentation and facilitation techniques.
