Hello! I'm Zoey (she/her), a rising senior at Yale University, pursuing a major in Global Affairs, as well as certificates in Global Health Studies and Statistics & Data Science. As an aspiring global health researcher and practitioner, I am currently exploring topics in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), epidemiology, and health policy.
Currently, I am interning at Mayo Clinic for their artifical intelligence and health-tech initiative, supporting strategy, market intelligence, and solutions development. I am also a YIGH Leadership in Global Health Fellow, refining diagnostic tools and identifying performance metrics for the World Bank at their Climate & Health Program.
Additionally, I conduct medical research with Johns Hopkins Medicine on randomized clinical trials and cohort studies of substance abuse and infectious disease treatment. As an NFS Fellow, I produce policy research on the distributional impacts of data center development in LMICs, recognized by the Stanford Hoover Institution, Wilson Center, CSET, etc.
Previously, I headed the Quality Assurance/Quality Insurance Department of Yale’s student-run primary care clinic, HAVEN Free Clinic, overseeing research-based interventions to improve clinic processes and quality of care for 600+ local patients. As Director-General of Operations for an international Model UN conference, I have led operational logistics, managing $130K+ in budget and accruing ~$80K in profit. I’ve assisted with projects between Yale and biotech-/pharmaceutical companies at Yale Ventures, managing a database of over 3000+ client information and accounts.
Outside of those, I have led legislative advocacy as Vice Chair of the State of Hawai’i’s youth commission, dabbled in international journalism for The Yale Globalist, conducted cortisol hormone analysis at the Yale Child Study Center, and sparred with the Yale Mixed Martial Arts Club. In my free time, I love listening to pop punk and true crime podcasts, studying (and eating) at trendy cafes, and playing games (Monopoly Deal!) with friends.
