Jon Kissane is an AI software executive with over 20 years of experience embracing disruption to create value for emerging startups, established high tech companies, their shareholders and customers. He is passionate about forming high-functioning teams who align and execute successfully against the highest strategic objectives.
Most recently Jon held P&L responsibility for a number of businesses and functions at Kraken, a leading global crypto exchange. Over his tenure he led Bus Operations, Corp Dev, M&A Integration, Bus Dev, and business units such as Staked & CF Benchmarks. His leadership enabled new key businesses and accelerated many Crypto/TradFi offerings.
Recently Jon served as Visa’s SVP and Global Head of Corporate Development and M&A. He built a global team responsible for driving strategic investments and M&A. Jon led strategy, opportunity identification, evaluation, negotiation, structuring, and integration efforts for multiple billions of dollars of investments spanning the US, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Europe, India and Africa. Focus areas included Artificial Intelligence, Real-Time Payments, and Omni-channel commerce.
At NetApp Jon served as General Manager for incubating NetApp's Cloud Business, including the cross-functional sales, engineering, and marketing teams focused on driving NetApp’s Hybrid Cloud. In addition, Jon led Corporate Strategy and Corporate Development. This includes identifying growth opportunities in flash and cloud, and spearheading key strategic relationships including Cisco.
Prior to joining NetApp, he was SVP of Corp Dev at CA Technologies, where he led acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments. There he defined and led the M&A process, resulting in CA’s contemporary offerings serving the Cloud thru SaaS.
Earlier, Jon held several executive positions including General Manager at a public digital media software company, where he led eCommerce and IT and successfully drove double-digit revenue growth. Prior to that, he was in early-stage venture as a Kauffman Fellow for Centennial Ventures, whose portfolio included Compellent Technologies (acq'd by Dell), Inflow (acq'd by Sungard) and Telephia (acq'd by Nielsen). He also worked as a leader in the High Tech Practice of The Boston Consulting Group and led Bus Dev at an early-stage mobile software startup that was acquired eventually by SAP. He started his career as a design and development engineer.
Jon received his MBA from INSEAD, a JD from Harvard Law School, and dual undergraduate degrees in history and engineering from Stanford University.
