My enthusiasm for renewable energy has led me to work on international sustainable energy projects in Europe, the Middle East, Canada, the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America. Most recently this consists of Solar PV project development and finance. I'm a systems software engineer and IT security expert. My first C project was a driver for Wi-Fi cards based on reverse engineering that made it on the Linux Kernel after a lot of work, learning everything in the process. Since then I keep looking for new problems to solve and new areas to explore. My physics background and lab experience allow me to approach problems from multiple view points and provide innovative solutions to both hardware and software issues. I learn quick and I help others learn quick too, I've always been a team player working with teams inside the lab and remotely, as a tutor, a consultant or a co-worker. Brainstorming is a way of life for me and I don't care about any personal or other issues when it comes to exchanging ideas and looking for solutions. I enjoy elegant and well focused implementations. I believe coding is a form of art and code should be clean, simple, well commented and well structured. I've spent a lot of time understanding and debugging code just to write it in a better, cleaner way. Finally I'm an activist, I've worked on many issues related to digital rights, open source, free networks etc and spent a lot of time being part of the community. For me technology is not just bits and bytes, it's a way to change the world and I want to be part of that change.

Athanasios Kostopoulos

I'm passionate about technical security with a strong foundation in modern distributed systems, product resiliency, AI security, and Unix-like operating systems — which I first encountered in 1996 and never looked back. I’m proud to contribute to the Open Source community, which has since gone mainstream. My core values revolve around autonomy, disruptive innovation, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Technically, I speak Python and Golang, and have worked with a broad range of languages over the years. I enjoy reverse engineering (especially retro systems), and occasionally dive into CTFs for fun and skill-building. Academically, I earned a degree in Artificial Intelligence before it was cool — BSc Cybernetics with Computer Science, University of Reading (Class of 2005).
