James Crowley is a founder, CTO and investor. He focuses his time and resources on global climate, health and humanitarian action. As a fractional CTO, he supports deep tech startups with founder-friendly technical advice and hands-on expertise. He is a venture partner at Satgana, investing in early-stage climate startups in Europe and Africa. He also sits on the board of Boxtribute, a humanitarian logistics platform that has delivered millions of aid items across eight countries, and has volunteered on the ground in Ukraine, Poland, and Greece, coordinating aid with NGOs and UN agencies. James previously co-founded FundApps, a regtech company monitoring over US$29 trillion in assets, with an exit to private equity.

Designer. Researcher. Strategist. Silo breaker. Manager of small teams and wearer of many hats. Experienced with a variety of companies including design agencies, early-stage startups and 7 years of design & leadership at Google. Now pursuing professional opportunities for advancing social and climate justice. My background: After 14 years of working in user design, research and management at companies that include big tech (Google), design agencies and startups, I decided to do something different. For the last year, my focus has been advocating for sustainability, creating space for bikers & pedestrians in my town and participating in local governance. Currently, I serve as the Secretary of the Fairfield Bike & Pedestrian Commission, where I work with local officials, stakeholders, and residents to promote safe, accessible, and sustainable transportation options in the town. I also chair the EcoJustice Team in my community where I lead a team of volunteers and activists to educate and bring sustainable practices to those around me, as well as advocate for climate action both locally and nationally.
