With a diverse background in social media, live events, public relations, internal communications, advertising, and journalism, I have provided my marketing expertise to some of the world's largest brands (AT&T, Intuit, Target, Pandora, Snapchat, Subway, Cricket Wireless, DIRECTV), as well as some of the biggest names in entertainment (Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Usher, Charli XCX, Julia Michaels). I have spent the recent majority of my career focused within the social media space - specializing in account management/client services, creative project management, campaign strategy, channel strategy, content calendar management, content curation, publishing, copywriting, influencer & talent relations, experiential marketing, brand partnerships, livestream & event production, analytics, community management, and on-site content capture. Known for my enthusiasm, organizational skills, and impeccable attention to detail, I am a quick learner and a creative thinker. I value accuracy and strive for excellence, which led me to receive Rising Star and Content of the Year awards at Max Borges Agency, as well as multiple Shorty Award nominations for my campaign work. My combined professional experiences and personal passions have guided my path to success particularly within tech and entertainment.

I am a decision engineer and executive coach for Type-A professionals. I am passionate about helping people make decisions with intention, from the small consistent microdecisions over time that govern how you show up as a leader, to the big macrodecisions you make about what direction to take next in business or life. Clients appreciate my analytical approach to coaching - with a BS in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, and an MBA from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, I use a blend of decision science, design thinking, and systems thinking to help my clients achieve their goals. When I'm not coaching, I enjoy teaching. Over the years I have led workshops both domestically and internationally, showing hundreds of driven professionals how to use the principles of decision engineering to grow their impact and find fulfillment. I've taught a business decision making course for Stanford Continuing Studies and helped redesign the decision making curriculum in Stanford's famous Design Your Life course. I served on the very first coaching team for Seth Godin's altMBA, am a founding member of the Forbes Coaches Council, and am a member of adjunct faculty at New Ventures West. I also host the podcast, Ask A Decision Engineer. I am a Bay Area native based in Oakland, CA, who has traveled to every continent except Antarctica. In my free time, I enjoy dance, making things with my hands, spending time with my family, and eating good food.

People who need your product don’t understand what it is or why it matters, so they end up not caring. Why does this happen? We stuff our websites with business jargon to sound like we know what we're doing. We assume we know our customers and how to talk to them about our differentiating value. We end up over-explaining what the product can do (company-focused) instead of what problem it solves (buyer-focused). And as the company grows, the focus moves further away from customers and more towards building the product and sales activities. As a founder/CEO, you FEEL like you've gotten plenty of customer signal already. Big mistake. The most successful companies are *obsessed* with their customers. We are dismissing our customers, yet customers are the key to unlocking the next round of growth for our company. They bought your product when nobody else would. Do you know what makes them unique and what motivated them to buy? A superficial understanding of your customers causes buyer indifference, team frustration, and slow growth. I help solve these problems by conducting and analyzing customer interviews to create positioning and messaging your buyers will understand and act on. So you get: 👉 deeper engagement with customers and prospects 👉 consistent, memorable messaging 👉 increased inbound to demos 👉 better sales conversations 👉 differentiated positioning 👉 increased word of mouth 👉 closed deals ★★★★★ “We had a 4X increase in sales and I 100% attribute that to those learnings I had with Anna.” —Founder, EdLight ★★★★★ “Highly recommend Anna to any startup looking to up their marketing game." —Head of Growth, Navattic ★★★★★ "I especially appreciated the work she did up front to get to know us, our product, and our customers. Strong recommend for any startup." —Founder, Copybara Book a call here: https://calendly.com/furmanovmarketing/45min
