I invest in capital-efficient, post-product market fit startups within the SaaS and technology-enabled services sectors. These startups are often based in:
-- Non-traditional tech clusters 🌍: These are regions abundant in talent with strong economic environments, allowing closer proximity to buyers, but are not receiving enough venture funding. This aids in better understanding customer needs while also providing access to a pool of highly talented individuals to fuel growth.
-- Non-traditional technology areas🔍: Many of these are overlooked by mainstream VCs, perceived as having limited TAM or not being at the forefront of technology. Instead, these areas focus on addressing real pain points and build sustainable businesses.
-- Non-traditional founders 👥: Founders with the passion and expertise to develop and market their solutions, are not always prioritised with VC funding. Their ability to execute and deliver is far more important than fundraising achievements.
Through Conductive Ventures, a $450M AUM fund, I support startups that evolve into businesses with good fundamentals. These businesses may not aim to become unicorns from the outset but instead focus on delivering meaningful outcomes for customers, by building efficient, sustainable and positive businesses that can withstand the tide of macroclimates.
In exploring non-traditional spaces, I discovered significant potential in PetTech, yet noticed a gap in understanding among pet professionals and investors. To bridge this gap, my wife and I created The Digital PawPrint, a newsletter for the pet industry .
Furthermore, I firmly believe in the transformative potential of AI and automation for the next generation of intelligent businesses. In my podcast, The Baking Soda Podcast, Kahini and I, discuss the importance of these businesses having the necessity, versatility, and reliability of baking soda, rather than focusing on their hype .
Having previously helped scale a loyalty marketing SaaS platform to acquisition and a high-end winery in redefining wine allocation and member value, I am passionate about enabling with strategic teams.
Outside of the office, I’m passionate about the survival of the arts for the next generation -- specifically the San Francisco Opera -- and focus on increasing patron engagement and donor conversion. Additionally, supporting community is important to me, and as such I'm involved with supporting the British community in the Bay Area and beyond.
