I'm an experienced security engineer working with low-level systems and native code, endpoint security, embedded platforms, and securing application and driver code for Windows, macOS and Linux. I've helped grow multiple small self-funded security companies, interviewing hundreds and hiring dozens of engineers, managing teams of 4 or 5 senior engineers and participating in leadership, marketing, proposals, client management, and talent mentorship.
I've worked in government defense contracting, classified security research, commercial security consulting and code audits for Fortune 50 companies, and in my most recent role, have done community management for open-source.
My focuses have always been the security of operating systems, malware techniques, malware detection and evasion, and endpoint security agents (antivirus, firewall, anti malware, and EDR). Back in the late 2000s I wrote an oft-cited white paper on hypervisor rootkits.
In the past I've enjoyed security CTFs and hacker journals, having published twice in the journal known as Proof of Concept || GTFO, and am featured in volumes II and III of the collections published in book form.
I'm looking for opportunities to make the most impact I can as a security engineer and analyst to keep consumers secure.
