When I was in the military, my nickname was the “why guy.” No matter what I was asked to do, I would look inquisitively and ask, “why?”. I always wanted to understand the larger goal to find a better solution. This desire led me to data science, where I could use my skills to help solve complex problems. I excelled as a data scientist in producing financial rewards, patents, and publications. I have helped companies return millions of dollars of value, trained hundreds of data scientists, and solved problems across many verticals using simple interpretable models to complex multimodal deep learning models. But, I wanted to have a larger impact. Most recently, I have worked at the most successful AI startups, leading efforts to sell to technical audiences. I have a knack for explaining how complex technical tools can solve the most significant problems within enterprises. During my time at DataRobot, a leader in AutoML, we truly 10X as a company, and I moved from field sales to leading enablement for hundreds of data scientists. At Snorkel, a leader in data-centric AI, I was part of the founding GTM team and 3X customer growth. At Hugging Face, a leader in open-source AI, has had substantial growth during my time. I empathize with folks during enterprise AI and have become a notable voice around practical AI. To do this, I often wear (and like wearing) multiple hats, whether being an evangelist, a sales engineer, a solutions architect, or a machine learning engineer. I shine as a communicator of my findings, whether by publications, presenting, or talking to the press. I have published in leading computer science, law, and communications journals. I have delivered over a hundred talks, including keynotes, taught several classes, participated in local meetups, and am a social influencer for AI/ML through Tik Tok, Youtube, LinkedIn, and Medium.
