He has successfully represented a diverse range of clients, including Fortune 500 companies and innovative startups, before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Aroon's tenure as a partner at Cognition IP, a Y Combinator-backed law firm, involved managing complex patent portfolios for both startups and established tech companies. Prior to Cognition IP, Aroon served as Lead Counsel of Intellectual Property at GE Healthcare, where he managed a large international patent portfolio for medical devices and software. Aroon has also served as Intellectual Property Counsel at Wolfram Research, where he managed patent portfolios for key software products like Mathematica and Wolfram Alpha.
Aroon also gained valuable experience at Weaver Austin Villeneuve & Sampson and Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg, focusing on patent applications and prosecution for tech clients. He managed international patent portfolios, coordinated with foreign counsel, and developed global prosecution strategies.
He obtained his JD from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he was a member of the University of Illinois Law Review, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
