I am an experienced financial services and fintech attorney with over 15 years of expertise in mortgage regulatory compliance, consumer finance law, and emerging technologies. I assist financial institutions in the structuring, launching, and diversification of mortgage and consumer credit products that align with complex federal and state requirements while addressing business requirements and with an understanding of customer user experience. I also assist third-party tech/ emerging tech enabled services firms in delivering streamlined value in a cost effective and compliant manner. My practice spans the full spectrum of mortgage and consumer protection laws, including TILA/Reg Z, RESPA/Reg X, ECOA/Reg B, HMDA/Reg C, FCRA/Reg V, FHA, HOEPA, ATR/QM, TRID, GLBA, UDAAP, and state anti-predatory lending laws. I have guided banks, credit unions, and fintech companies through mortgage advertising, origination, underwriting, disclosures, closing, and servicing—as well as compliance with fair lending requirements under ECOA, FHA, HMDA, and CRA. As both a former executive and current fractional general counsel, I have partnered with product, engineering, compliance, and risk teams to embed compliance into product flows, low friction user experiences, and technology platforms. My work includes drafting consumer-facing terms and disclosures, advising on HELOCs, refinances, and purchase loans, and operationalizing compliance frameworks for AI- and SaaS-enabled mortgage solutions. In addition to advising on product development, I have led governance, risk, and compliance programs for fintechs, mortgage originators, servicers, and third-party service providers, including vendor management, cybersecurity/privacy compliance (GLBA, CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, NIST, ISO27001). I also have direct experience with CFPB rulemaking, TRID beta testing, and eClosing pilots, giving me practical insight into how regulatory frameworks shape digital lending products and processes.
