Principal Specialized Engineer, Applied AI at Google Cloud's Office of the CTO (OCTO), focused on bridging Google Engineering with strategic partners to build transformative, tech-enabled businesses.
Previous roles include CTO @ Unlikely AI, a stealth startup building explainable AI and new reasoning and planning architectures.
I served as CTO @ Stability AI, where I led platform/infra engineering for models like Stable Diffusion, created DreamStudio.ai, and was recognised as a Top 75 Innovator (World AI Summit 2023).
Tom led the Engineering division for the Stability AI Platform and Infrastructure, working on the future of generative AI to inspire global creativity and innovation, including Stable Diffusion and other large foundation models. Stability AI-backed research communities developed breakthrough AI models applied to imaging, language, code, audio, video, 3D content, design, biotech and other scientific research. Working with Amazon Web Services provided us with the world’s fifth-largest supercomputer – the Ezra-1 UltraCluster – supplying the necessary power to generate these advancements.
Previously Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Chorus Intelligence, global data platform for law-enforcement and formerly founder of tech accelerator YouSoft.
Currently also mentoring Founders @ University of Cambridge.
