Chadwick Manning is a seasoned entrepreneur, project developer, and financier in renewable energy and sustainable technology. As Co-founder and Managing Partner at Automata Holdings, he leads the development of sustainable, microgrid-powered data centers and power infrastructure projects. In addition, as an Advisor at Cerulean Ventures, he assists in sourcing, due diligence, and supporting the fund’s portfolio companies. Previously, Chadwick was a founding partner of GSF Infrastructure, an investment firm focused on sustainable companies and ESG-driven projects. He also co-founded Electriq Power, a pioneering provider of residential battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the U.S. At Electriq, he played a key role in developing intelligent, integrated solar + storage solutions that provided homeowners with affordable, resilient energy while enabling grid stabilization. His work earned him recognition as a Forbes “30 Under 30” Honoree and a Grist 50 Honoree. Beyond Electriq, Chadwick has been instrumental in launching and scaling multiple sustainable technology ventures. He was a founding advisor to ChargeNet, which develops DC-fast EV charging stations with integrated solar and storage at quick-serve restaurants. He also served as a Partner at 639 LLC, which owns and operates solar-powered cryptocurrency data centers, leveraging patented technology for enhanced efficiency.

I am a Managing Partner at Factor, an executive advisory firm that provides world-class, flexible executive services to portfolio CEOs in the clean economy sector. Factor is a team of seasoned clean economy practitioners. Personally, with nearly 23 years of experience in building, investing in, and advising companies that are inventing in and scaling solutions for renewable energy, energy storage, energy efficiency, and carbon capture, I have a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this field. Factor primarily collaborates with investors, grant makers, and municipal leaders to support their portfolio of CEOs grow, access capital, crystallize their vision, mission, and values, achieve product-market fit, recruit and retain amazing talent, and scale energizing culture. In my role at Factor, I serve as a Senior Advisor, Board Observer, Investor, and Mentor to multiple clean economy early-stage and early-growth companies, including Enzinc and Noon Energy, which are developing zinc-based energy storage solutions and long-duration energy storage technology (LDES), respectively. My passion for the clean economy stems from my personal experience as a 9/11 survivor, when I witnessed the violence of the fossil economy and decided to dedicate my vocational life to its antidote. I live to see my CEOs succeed, whether that means hitting their OKRs/KPIs, achieving deep personal and emotional growth, or building a more connected and impactful culture.
