Melissa Johnson has had all the jobs and done all the things. *
She is the founding mother of Miss Havisham’s Curiosities (www.misshavishamscuriosities.com), a décor and lifestyle brand for discerning individuals with darker sensibilities.
Her now infamous insult teacups are the official cups of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert's Tea4Tuesday segments and have been showcased by Bust Magazine, Boing Boing, Bored Panda, and Extra Crispy among others.
Before launching MHC, Melissa spent over 20 years as a production and development executive in New York and Los Angeles specializing in animation. She has created content for clients such as The Colbert Report, Saturday Night Live, Comedy Central, Robert Smigel’s TV Funhouse, MTV, A&E, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, BET, and Oxygen. She's developed content for feature films, television series, on air promotions, websites and video games and comic books. She's a writer, a producer, a wise cracker, and a lover of all things haunted or weird.
Melissa served as Head of Production at Buck Design (www.buck.tv) and We are Royale (www.weareroyale.com). She cut her teeth at the series/development lab, X-Chromosome for Oxygen Media which created and produced thirteen original series in two years and remains the only animated development lab ever created for women by women.
She is married to Emmy winning puppeteer and director, Tim Lagasse. Together they like to travel, find perfect tiny objects, and train their growing cat circus.
