Stuck in bed recovering from experimental, reconstructive hip surgeries, I taught myself web design & development, and in 2004, founded StageBloc. Now I found and fund product focused startups through Megatron Ventures.
My specialties include product design, strategy (product & business), cross-functional team leadership & coaching, UX/UI design, product lifecycle management, brand management, direct to fan, relentless resourcefulness, eternal optimism, the Milwaukee Brewers, and grilling the world's best grilled cheese ever.
StageBloc, my first major startup, was a direct to fan platform and artist network used by such entertainers & brands as Justin Timberlake, Kobe Bryant, Metallica, Eric Church, Linkin Park, Kenny Chesney, Pepsi, Magic Mike Live, Keith Urban, and Bon Iver. In late 2015, StageBloc was acquired by Fullscreen (itself later acquired by AT&T) and rebranded to Fullscreen Direct.
Growing up I was big into athletics and music. I have competed alongside two future Olympic gymnasts, sung in operas (Tosca & Carmina Burana) and at Carnegie Hall (twice in the National Choir), played in touring rock bands, worked as a music engineer & producer, run an independent record label, and worked in artist management. I'm also that kid who took the SATs in 5th grade for fun.
As the proud owner of an experimentally regrown hip (a 10 year process), I like to speak about "Turning Obstacles Into Opportunities & Being Relentlessly Resourceful" and the importance of exercise & health for startup founders. These experiences transformed me into the entrepreneur I am today and guide my hand when helping others.
With a history in the Sciences (Biology & Psychology) and education, I approach every project with a multidisciplinary perspective.
