My current project is Tima, an advocacy organization working to advance innovative solutions in support of indigenous rights, biodiversity, and regenerative approaches to Nature. See the Tima projects page for more. https://www.timaweb.world/projects My upbringing was steeped in volunteerism, activism, and social good, with a deep and abiding respect for Nature, indigenous wisdom, and the interdependence and welfare of all beings. These foundational experiences shaped my life and led me on a professional journey that includes executive positions in foreign policy, philanthropy, nonprofits, government, academia, media, ethical artificial intelligence (AI), and the arts. My professional focus includes cultural relations, social and environmental justice, indigenous rights, mental health, traditional knowledge, and ethical uses of technology. I launch organizations and companies, connect people and cultures in meaningful ways, and help companies do good and well. I am trained trained as an anthropologist, depth psychology therapist, and archetypal astrologer. I am fluent in English and Brazilian Portuguese.

Rebecca Distler

Rebecca is an impact-driven public health leader working at the nexus of AI, digital technology, and global healthcare. For over a decade, she has worked with technology companies, foundations, non-profits, and governments to advance health equity across low resource communities. This multi-stakeholder approach informs her work at the intersection of AI, public health, and policy, including the use of AI in health systems in low- and middle-income countries. Rebecca currently leads strategic health partnerships at OpenAI. She previously built and led the AI & Digital Health portfolio at the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, a philanthropy committed to bridging the frontiers of AI and social impact, and served as Director of Global Health Initiatives at Element, a deep learning company co-founded by Yann LeCun. Throughout her career, Rebecca has partnered with organizations such as the World Health Organization, the Global Fund, Gavi the Vaccine Alliance, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Wellcome to advance innovation in public health. Rebecca holds a Masters in Health Policy and Global Health from the Yale School of Public Health and a BA in Political Science from Yale University. She is a Carnegie Ethics Fellow, a Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations, an alumni World Economic Forum Global Shaper, and was previously selected as an AI XPRIZE Semi-Finalist and Gavi INFUSE Pacesetter.

Lawyer focused on general corporate matters, specifically mergers and acquisitions, private equity, growth equity and corporate governance. Interested in the intersection of business, law and public policy, with prior experience analyzing great power politics, FinTech developments, regulatory regime changes, pandemic responses, democratic elections and anti-corruption frameworks. Also a longtime student of globalization as it relates to culture and identity formation. Immensely grateful for the love and support I’ve received throughout my life.
