My professional interests are in technology, AI and climate. How do we build a better technology ecosystem that serves people and society? How can innovation in technology, financing and policy accelerate the climate transition? I've had a diverse career. I trained as a civil engineer, then studied international human rights law and public policy and administration. I worked with the UN and in the non-profit sector on humanitarian and human rights research and policy, before embarking on a career in tech and climate over 10 years ago. I co-founded Amnesty Tech, today a thriving group at the forefront of technology and human rights. I then joined Element AI (today Service Now Research), starting and leading its AI for Climate work. In 2020, I co-founded and became CEO of Carbon Re, an industrial AI company spun out of Cambridge University and UCL, developing novel solutions for decarbonizing cement. I then co-founded Nexus Climate, a company providing climate tech advisory services and supporting the startup ecosystem. I am also Executive Director of the Future of Technology Institute, a ‘think & do tank’, dedicated to building a prosperous European future that harnesses the power of technology.
