I started my career as an IT technician, answering the support phone, passing power/networking cables, manually rebooting servers, putting out datacenter fires (the real kind not the figurative one) and fixing hardware issues. Later I worked as a SysAdmin in Microsoft and Linux environments up until the advent of DevOps when I discovered the power of the cloud, programming and automation. Nowadays, I like to put myself in situations where I can bridge the gap between infrastructure and application code to ensure that applications are running efficiently. I've worked for several companies from many industries and sizes, mostly because I don't mind keeping a job where I don't feel that I'm needed but also because I'm always looking to improve my skills. I'm currently looking for opportunities to evolve the programming skills I've acquired in the recent past, especially within the Ruby on Rails framework, but I'm also open to tackling SRE/DevOps roles and freelancing/consulting for people interested in reducing infrastructure costs, improving CI/CD pipelines and implementing the technical measures for security certifications.
