Leveraging analytical skills honed over years in the banking sector, I lead transformations in compliance management, ensuring our policies, screening systems, and other controls align with evolving regulatory standards and protect against legal, operational, and reputational risk.

My name is Victory Lee. I’m a senior at Yale University passionate about the intersection of law, policy research, and languages. I was born and raised in South Korea until I moved to America about ten years ago. Having moved 17 times in my life, it is my second nature to adapt to and learn from unfamiliar environments. I aspire to live a life filled with cultural diversity–from the new cuisines I try cooking, in the new cities I travel to, and in the depth of exchange I pursue in small and big interactions with friends, clients, and strangers. In America, my work with the immigrant and refugee communities has fueled my passion to live amidst their rich diversity and work for underprivileged communities in the legal field. After graduation, I'm interested in working as a paralegal, research associate, or an interpreter, building on my previous experiences in non-profits, government agencies, and research organizations.

“Life begins at the end of our comfort zone.” A mantra I remind myself as I rock my two-year-old toddler back to sleep at 3 am. Ya, I try to find the silver lining in things. A bit about me: I don't shy away from embarrassing moments. One time, while living near the border of Tucson, Arizona, and Mexico, I worked as a community organizer advocating for fair immigration border policies. While on a 25-day campaign, Telemundo asked me for an interview on the work we were doing for the migrant community in Tucson. I said, yes reluctantly, only because my Spanish was very limited at the time and the reporter said to do my best. So I did. And I FAILED. All I could concentrate on was how hot my face felt and how my tongue struggled to speak clearly. So, I told myself that I knew I could be better and so I did. I went to Colombia, stayed for a year and my Spanish now is a LOT better looking (gracias, Celia Cruz:) I am tenacious. I am soft. I pay attention to details, like people's birthdays or fresh haircuts. And even someone's mood changes. I like that kind of stuff. I care about people and equity because we have this one life to live and everyone deserves to live healthy, full, and vibrant lives. I am looking to bring my 5+ years of advocacy, community organizing, and strategic fundraising experience to the tech space.
