Clinical Master’s recipient from Northwest Nazarene University. Undergraduate degree from Boise State University is in psychology but includes two years of experience in criminal justice and elementary education. My intention is to work towards receiving my clinical license and primarily work in a therapy setting with those who have been diagnosed with a mental health diagnosis in a therapy setting.
My passion is to help people in need and educate those around me. I have experience working with people from all different backgrounds including work in mental health settings, drug and alcohol rehabilitation populations, juvenile probation, refugee populations, and homeless populations. I have experience with conducting therapy techniques in several of these populations and case management with many of them.
I have a lot of experience working with children or juveniles in many different settings including as a substitute teacher for the Boise School district, tutor at Anser Charter School, and as part of the Department of Health and Welfare’s Child Protection team. My work with adults is also extensive and includes work in a homeless shelter, mental health agency, refugee agency, and a drug and alcohol rehabilitation setting.
Great enjoyment comes from helping others, and providing therapy techniques to clients to help them grow as individuals is very fulfilling. Providing therapy includes assessment, goal setting, and working towards the established goals by utilizing different therapy techniques which I have been taught through my graduate school program and have been able to utilize during internship experiences. I also enjoy helping with case management as needed in order to best meet client therapy needs.
