Since I was a young lad, motorcycles have been my passion. In fact, anything mechanical has captured my fascination. I still remember taking my dad’s lawnmower apart, down to the very last nut and bolt, on my bedroom floor. As I went through each component, it was like magic, being able to see and understand the mechanics of the working parts.
Throughout technical college, I latched on to any ideas and projects I could get hands on; moving from understanding the theory of mechanics, to the science behind the engineering, with dozens of projects in between. I learned mechanics 'everything', eating books on anything related to engineering.
My passion carried me through my studies, and I was rewarded with the ultimate: A '𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗟' on my Fitter and Turner Apprenticeship (yes, I say this with pride). The principles of my apprenticeship have stood me in good stead throughout my career; from being a fasteners/helicoil sales rep, to a heavy industry sales engineer, to a mill spindles product manager, to an external sales manager – and owning my own business, all whilst maintaining an uncompromising focus on high quality standards.
I was in the process of completing my Bachelor of Commerce, specialising in Marketing and Business Management, with four modules to go, when retrenchment happened. And, for anyone who knows my life story, knows I soldier on, no matter what.
Now living in Cumbria, the UK - fueled by my passion - motorcycle racing, cycling, hiking and sailing are next level!
