Katharina Hölzle is technology advisor to the minister of economic affairs of Baden-Württemberg, Dr. Hoffmeister-Kraut. She is professor for Technology Management and Human Factors at the University of Stuttgart, leading the institute for human factors and technology management (IAT) as well as the Fraunhofer IAO. From 2018 - 2022, she was deputy chair of the commission of experts for research and innovation (EFI) that consults the German government and member of the High-Tech-Forum. Prior to her current position she was professor for IT Entrepreneurship at the Hasso Plattner Institute from 2019 to 2022 and before that held the chair for Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Potsdam. She has worked five years in several positions in the semiconductor, strategic management consulting, and eBusiness industry before returning to academia. She advises companies in strategic innovation and technology management. Her research interests are antecedents and consequences of the digital transformation on organizations, digital entrepreneurship, open innovation, leadership and organizational structures for innovation. Dr. Hölzle has published various articles in the field of open innovation, people and structures in innovation management, and user-driven innovation. Her Ph.D. thesis dealt with career path models for project managers in large corporations. Dr. Hölzle is married and has three children. Specialties: digital transformation, digital entrepreneurship, technology foresight, technology management, organization of innovation, barriers to innovation, open innovation, design thinking, entrepreneurial thinking.
