I've been in leadership roles on and off since my early days as a developer. I'm now working full-time as a manager and my top goal is helping my team members reach their fullest potential. In my dozen years as an IC, I saw _a lot_ of code. Some good, some bad, most of it interesting. Now that I've moved into management, I'm passionate about sharing all that I've learned with those that I am mentoring. In the post-COVID world, I believe that remote-first teams will remain common. Having been fully remote since 2013, I've learned a lot about working from home: working efficiently, avoiding distractions, setting boundaries, and building teams. The challenges are different than working in an office, but the environment can be every bit as strong and supportive.
