Hey there! I'm Katie, founder of Root to Earth.
I've worked on building tech products with an impact since I finished my Systems Engineering undergrad program almost a decade ago. First for public sector clients, like the State Department, and later, after my MBA, at PayPal and Aspiration (sustainable fintech).
I've honed the skill of translating among business, product, and engineering needs.
I am also a climber. In my work with the American Alpine Club, and in my own personal climbing, I've seen the impact of climate change on the natural spaces that are so dear to me.
I've spent time studying climate change more in depth at both Terra.do and OnePointFive. During my climate change deep dive, I learned about the importance of the human-earth connection that I have experienced firsthand via climbing.
Both my professional and recreational experience have informed my philosophy about business. I believe that business should shift to triple bottom line thinking, taking fiscal, social, and environmental impacts into consideration. That's why I started Root to Earth.
