Since 2004 I gained significant experience in designing and programming data driven analytical applications working on projects in banking, retail telecommunications, brokerage, online gambling and social analytics. I'm a full stack developer responsible for architecting and delivering solutions from the database to the user interface. Having such a wide perspective made me good at the role of a business analyst, eliciting details and discussing the problem with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. I believe as an engineer we need to become experts of our domain; for example to bolster my understanding of finance I finished a 2 year post-graduate school in banking.
By now have experience with a whole range of object oriented and functional languages (Python, C#, F#, Java, Scala), relational and nosql databases (Oracle, MSSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra), analytical tools (R, Spark), back-end and front-end technologies (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis, Akka, React.js, Scala.js, Django), and deployment solutions (Docker, AWS). I found my sweet spot working as close to business as possible, gaining insight, while supporting my colleagues with programming expertise. The best problems have a bit of scientific mystery around them I think.

"Cybersecurity" in technical and business contexts.
Security is a means to an end; the right solution often isn't the most technically secure solution.
I strive to develop solutions that are secure by default, and demonstrably so.
