As CEO he successfully exited his prior startup having sold Humn.ai to Aon in January 2024. He was one of the founding members starting as Chief Commercial Officer before becoming CEO and initiating and completing the sale to the second largest global insurance broker in Aon. Prior to this he had setup and run his own own management consultancy focused on helping startups and scaleups fundraise, decide and execute on their strategy, launch new territories, sign strategic partnerships, acquire and integrate companies as well as optimise operations. He had helped 15+ clients across real estate, logistics, mobility, insurance, fintech, hospitality and ecommerce. Before this, he spent 2 years at Cargo (now Ara Labs) leading both their Corporate Development and International business. Whilst there, he helped the company raise $30m+ in 2 rounds, launch and scale the business in Mexico and Brazil, sign a global partnership with Uber as well as signing SaaS agreements with leading ridehail companies across Asia and the Middle East. Prior to that he worked at Gett for over 3 years initially in their strategy team before moving to the Corporate Development team. Whilst there, James led the Volkswagen $300m fundraise whilst completing four acquisitions. His background before that was across investment banking, strategy and accountancy where he learnt strategy, business planning, P&L ownership, fundraising, financing and M&A amongst other skills. Also a successful entrepreneur having founded iSwapBooks whilst at University which became the largest student book buying and selling site in the UK. He is highly innovative and creative whilst able to get things done at speed. This combination of an entrepreneurial background alongside an analytical background allows him to achieve big results. He is also a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with first time passes having started his career at Deloitte.
