TL;DR: I’m an ML Engineer—I have software and ML engineering experience working at AWS Annapurna Labs, SambaNova Systems, and on the AWS SageMaker AutoML team; applied science experience from Amazon’s Personalization team; and research experience in applied and theoretical ML.
In my spare time, I ask really smart people interesting questions about AI, philosophy, and history; and I write.
Longer:
Hi! I graduated from Harvey Mudd College in 2020 with a Computer Science / Mathematics joint major. I have experience in software development (current: AWS; former: SambaNova Systems, Amazon/AWS) and research (theoretical ML and Music Information Retrieval) with a particular interest in Machine Learning. I have experience in various programming languages and frameworks, am interested in the intersection of tech and policy, and have had a long-standing passion for learning Chinese. I podcast and write about AI, AI policy, the tech industry, and the intersection of technology and social/political/philosophical questions.
In 2018 I conducted research in Music Information Retrieval at the intersection of Deep Learning, Signal Processing, and Music, and since January 2019 I have been doing research in theoretical Machine Learning that utilizes a framework drawing together aspects of information theory, statistics, and algorithmic search to understand and prove results about learning processes.
I hope to do work where I'll be able to apply my love for math and algorithms, and where I'll be making a tangible, positive impact on the world around me and whoever uses what I'm building. Simultaneously, I hope to be a strong leader and inspire others around me to help affect positive change and bring out the best in themselves and others.
