Ever since I was a kid I've been interested in computers and money.
I began learning to program at age twelve. Two years later, I discovered Bitcoin.
As a teenager living in rural New Zealand, it gave me something valuable: the ability to earn and spend money online without running into age restrictions.
By fifteen, I was running a web development agency out of my bedroom, paying for server hosting and domains with BTC.
I used the profits to fund a student exchange to Denmark. After living there for a year, I returned to New Zealand, and instead of continuing high school, I dropped out -- and got my first job at a crypto startup in 2017. From there, I dove down the rabbit hole and never came back.
As an engineer, I've worked on projects including wallets, smart contracts, block explorers, accounting tools, dapps, and decentralized marketplaces.
I've also dabbled in non-tech roles, helping with customer support, sales, partnerships, SEO/content, and compliance.
Working in crypto has taken me across the world, where I've lived in eight countries, learned several languages, and seen up close the importance of global permissionless money.
In my spare time, I like to contribute to open-source projects, especially those involving Bitcoin L2 ("layer two") protocols. You can check out my Github under the handle @gringokiwi. My most recent project was NostrPIX, which won first place in the February 2025 bitcoin++ hackathon.
Since the beginning of 2025, I have been working at RiseWorks.io, a hybrid payroll solution that helps people pay and get paid in their preferred currencies -- including fiat, stablecoins, and bitcoin. It's a great product, with a solid vision and thousands of happy customers. If you'd like to learn more, feel free to DM me or send me an email at <my-first-name>@riseworks.io.
