My name is Sam Hassan and I am a 23 year-old graduate of the University of Oregon with a degree in Public Relations from the School of Journalism and Communication. I am a highly-driven entrepreneur focused on building my clothing line PDX Supply into a successful and profitable business. My past experiences include serving as Director of Public Relations/Marketing for Cultural Blends clothing company, helping spark the local Portland brand around the west coast, negotiating retail accounts in Oregon, Washington, and California. The brand is now in several retail locations, including the Fan Shop at the Moda Center and the campus bookstore at Central Washington University. My passions and skills include marketing, brand development, and I believe the key to success is positive communication that engages an audience through inspiration and motivation. I also served as an Account Executive for Allen Hall Public Relations, a student-run PR firm at the University of Oregon that delivers professional results to clients state-wide. An as Account Executive, I worked closely with Fred Meyer, helping develop and spread awareness about the company sponsored Polar Plunge, an event where people would plunge into the icy waters of the Willamette river to help support the Special Olympics of Oregon. Through innovative PR tactics which included creating a social media plan and pitching the event to local media which was picked up and covered, my team and I were able to successfully raise $35,000 for the Special Olympics of Oregon.
